When my husband, Eric and I moved into our new home in Brea, we would take walks around the immediate neighborhood and the Downtown area. At the time, we did not have any children yet. Our route would always include passing by a local church, which also happened to run a daycare facility. We would stop for a few minutes and delightfully watch the kids playing and laughing outside. We found ourselves drawn to this place. Once we had children and knowing we would still be working full-time jobs, we somehow felt that this could be the perfect facility to place them in. A few years later, we finally had our first child, Evan. Then the unimaginable happened to me and I was diagnosed with a chronic illness. Our son was only 16 months old when I came to the devastating realization that I couldn’t go back to work and worse, I couldn’t care for our son the way I wanted to and the way he deserved. We approached Downtown Chapel Childcare Center and explained to them our emergency situation. Within a few days and despite having a waiting list for the community, they graciously welcomed our son. It was because of their staff’s deep understanding and compassion that we were able to leave our son in their care. They reassured us that he would be every staff and teachers’ priority to guide, care, teach and love him. They helped softened this difficult time, which was full of anxiety and the pain of “letting him go too soon”. With the excitement of kindergarten looming ahead for our 4 ½ year-old, we’ve been extremely satisfied with the center’s curriculum and confident that they have (along with what we’ve encouraged at home) prepared him well with the vital skills and information he needs for transition. DCCC’s teachers have always treated our son with the warmth, humor, sensitivity and respect that every young child needs at such a young age, especially when they are away from home. Their amazing staff has given our family the gift of generosity, empathy and kindness during times when we needed it the most. DCCC has been a treasure for our family and for the City of Brea.

We’ve been using this program for 2 years. As a parents, I’m thrilled with the care the provide for my daughter. They are truly my partners in parenting. I rely on the family at DCCC to help us when we encounter development milestones and to celebrate our daughter. I’m very thankful for our experiences in this program.

The foresquare church has an excellent child card program. We had both of our sons’s enrolled in their summer programs and each kid loved it. With the small ratio of children to staff and the extra attention focused on learning about God you can’t go wrong enrolling your children there. They also offer winter break and spring break programs as well.
